The magic of garden grown flowers
I’ve always used garden flowers in my arrangements for years. They add a certain magic and romantic flair.
Now, I open my garden for my workshop, so you can take fresh flowers from the beds and use them in your arrangements.
We will still have those fresh Dutch flowers from the market as well. But adding the locally grown blooms makes all the difference.

I want to share the virtual cycle of growing flowers oneself and then harvesting them to craft with them. Because this is one of the most enjoyable ways to love nature, love art and love yourself.

First of all it’s really fun and romantic activity - picking flowers. But if you are keen on selecting the right flower combination in order to arrange a certain look, it takes a lot of thinking and visualizing in advance.
This part of floristry isn’t always taught. So here, I offer you the chance to try.

Even the same roses are not the same. The same zinnias are also not the same. Home grown flowers always have a bit more character, more fragrance and quirks.
Using them in the arrangement, your design will naturally become full of character and unique beauty.

Using garden flowers, we will practice different techniques on different dates.
Everything will be provided. You only need to think about how to carry your work home.
If you bring a car, it’s good idea to have a box or a crate in which you can set your arrangement so that it won’t topple while you drive.
If you are using ublic transport, it’s good to bring a waterproof shopping bag with some cushioning so that it’s easy to carry.

The workshops take place in Flower and Flour studio in Heemstede.
We are 3.5 km from Haarlem station and 25 km from Amsterdam.
You will be able to borrow our flower scissors. And all materials will be provided.
You are free to bring your own flowers and plants as you please.
You bring all your work home so please bring an appropriate bag.
