Dutch Flower Experience :

A Masterclass in Abundance

An Invitation to Pause and Create.

This is more than a workshop; it is a creative sabbatical designed for those who seek beauty, depth, and a moment of true transition.

First of all, you will be treated with the beauty of Dutch flowers. And arrange with these varied, fresh and robust blooms with me. When it is accessible, we will visit nearby cutting gardens or dahlia farms to be amongst fresh flowers on the field and choosing the ones to arrangement ourselves. Furthermore, we will chat about what kind of an end-result we would like create and customize the workshop where possible. Last but not least, you will be served authentic home-made Korean lunch and be introduced to Korean popular dish that are taking the culinary world by storm.

This is a cultural, floral and explorative day folded into a well-organized full-day program. Discover how the Dutch flowers seeped into its culture. And take a peek at how a Korean expat found a perfect home where the garden and its flowers become both her source of inspiration and business. We’ve hosted companies, a couple or an individual for a team building, vacation or a art portfolio project. Join me in the garden for a day of floral fantasy and zoay conversation.

Master the Art of Floral Still Life Design

Bring the depth, drama, and texture of classic art into your modern floral work. In this immersive experience, we bridge the gap between historic masterpieces and contemporary tablescaping.

  • 1. Designing with Drama: Learn to build theatrical, narrative-driven displays by combining flowers and foliage with earthen elements and personal memorabilia.

  • 2. Texture & Form: Study how contrasting textures—from delicate petals to rugged, organic elements—create structural depth and visual tension.

  • 3. Modern Interpretations: Look to Impressionist masters like Van Gogh to translate fluid brushstrokes, bold movement, and vibrant color palettes into contemporary design.

  • 4. Photography Magic: Master how your physical design translates to the camera, understanding how light, shadow, and angles capture the true mood of your work.

Visit a Flower Farms or Wild Flower Picking Garden

This is Netherlands. We have tulip farms in the spring and dahlia farms in the summer.

My own garden is there to provide plants and flowers, too.

‍ ‍The Art of the Day

Our time together is a shared creative retreat, slow-paced and meticulously tailored.

  • The Prelude | Creative Alignment Before you even arrive, our journey begins. Through email correspondence, we will explore your artistic vision, refine your style goals, and set the intention for our time together.

  • The Gathering | Farm & Garden Excursion (Optional) If you wish, we will step outside the studio to visit a local Dutch flower farm or hidden garden, sourcing seasonal stems and connecting directly with the earth before we design.

  • 11:00 | The First Masterclass: Foundational Drama We return to the workbench for your first hands-on session, translating the deep textures, shadows, and poetry of still-life masterpieces into living form.

  • 13:00 | Midday Midst: A Gourmet Korean Lunch We pause for a beautifully prepared, homemade Korean lunch served right in the studio.

  • 14:00 | The Second Masterclass: Narrative & Scale In the afternoon, we dive deeper and create the 2nd masterpiece. We will focus on advanced composition, the intentional placement .

  • 16:30 | Capturing the Magic & Reflection We step behind the lens, studying how light and camera angles document the true mood of your work. This flows into a gentle wrap-up and farewell around 17:00, leaving you inspired and renewed.

Frequently Asked Questions & Studio Policies

1. What is the quality and reputation of your workshops?

I take immense pride in the experience I provide. Flower and Flour maintains a near-perfect reputation, with over 50 five-star Google Reviews and only one four-star review. My goal is to exceed your expectations through artistry, education, and genuine hospitality. You can view my floral style and design philosophy on Instagram @flowerandflour.nl.

2. Who is this experience designed for?

This is for the traveler who seeks more than a standard tour. If you desire a "dream-like" day of Dutch flowers, hands-on creativity, and deep cultural enrichment, this is for you. It is a day of being fully taken care of—from the curated field visits to a gourmet lunch—allowing you to simply arrive and be inspired.

3. What is the difference between Fixed Dates and Private Commissions?

  • Fixed-Date Masterclasses: You will join other participants (maximum 4 guests total). These sessions are cozy, friendly, and a wonderful way to meet like-minded peers in a beautiful setting.

  • Private Commissions: These are bespoke days reserved exclusively for your party (1–4 guests), allowing for a more personalized "Pivot" dialogue and tailored logistics.

4. Can you accommodate larger groups?

The studio sessions are limited to 4 guests to maintain intimacy. However, for larger corporate retreats or private groups, I can arrange for a beautiful external venue. Please submit a request via the Private Commission form to discuss a larger-scale event.

5. Do you offer travel or accommodation services?

While I do not handle hotel or flight bookings, I am happy to help you fall in love with my local area. If you wish to stay in the charming Haarlem or Heemstede area, I can provide a list of my favorite local recommendations to enhance your stay.

6. How do I secure my booking?

To hold your date and allow me to begin the curation of your materials (museum tickets, seasonal blooms, and gourmet ingredients), 100% prepayment is required at the time of booking.

7. What is your cancellation and refund policy?

Because this is a full-day program involving significant preparation and perishable items, we adhere to the following:

  • Cancellations 4–6 weeks prior: 50% refund.

  • Cancellations within 4 weeks of the date: Non-refundable.

  • Note: As these sessions are often booked months in advance, a cancellation within the 4-week window typically results in a loss of business that cannot be recovered. We highly recommend travel insurance.

8. What if the host has to cancel?

In the unlikely event that the program cannot proceed as planned due to a reason on my side, you will receive a 100% full refund immediately.
